Ms. Gabrielse's favorite Montessori pondering:  "When I show something to a child, he receives it at the level in which he is living and not as the level on which I am giving. We must put the accent on observing the child so we know what the child is learning rather than what we thing we are teaching. We must put the accent on listening to the child’s spontaneous representations rather than expecting the “right answers.”
…every error is a reflection of the child’s thinking—so the teacher’s task is, as Piaget did, not to correct the answer, but to figure out why the child made the error…We must teach teaching, not correction."
--Celma Perry, Revitalizing the Montessori Apparatus

Ms. Gabrielse and her husband have 2 children in elementary at Montessorri Academy and she spends her time away from Montessori as a “soccer mom”, reading, baking and by the pool.
