Junior High Humanities Teacher
Chasten Glezman was born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan. Before attending undergrad Mr. Glezman studied in Germany as an exchange student and has since loved traveling the globe and learning about more about it. After receiving his Bachelor of Arts in Theater and Global Studies from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire in 2011 he moved to Milwaukee where he worked as a Teaching Artist for First Stage, one of the nation’s premier children’s theater and academy. Mr. Glezman worked for three years bringing drama to thousands of students throughout the greater Milwaukee region and inspiring students with autism and learning differences to pursue drama.
Mr. Glezman then moved to Chicago to pursue a Master of Education in Curriculum Studies from DePaul University while working as a substitute teacher for Chicago Public Schools (and practicing some improv for fun on the side!) While attending graduate school Mr. Glezman met his partner and eventually moved to South Bend where he then shared his time with DePaul and South Bend Public Schools.
After graduating with his M.Ed. with a focus on curriculum development, Mr. Glezman joined the Montessori Academy team in 2017 as the Humanities Teacher. He has also brought theater classes back to TMA at the Lower Elementary, Upper Elementary and Junior High levels. He is currently completing his AMS certification through the Cincinnati Montessori Secondary Teacher Education Program. He lives in South Bend with his partner Peter and their dog, Truman, the adopted mascot of the Junior High.
