Our “ Carnevale di Venezia” theme was a colorful, vibrant celebration that helped steal the winter away. It welcomed many cultures and also celebrated the fact that Maria Montessori was indeed herself an Italian. Our event took on an elegant version of the colorful event held in Italy.
The evening started with each guest's entrance…stepping gracefully out of the car...beautifully dressed for the evening…handing the keys to the valet and walking onto the landing of the South Bend Country Club…just in time to mingle with friends and look at all the silent auction items…while sampling hors d’oeuvres from waiters passing by…all the while listening to the Ron Wiggins Quartet compliments of Calie & Dahmane Amini.
The night progressed with a beautifully prepared dinner:
Greens with Carrots, Apples and Dried Cherries
with choice of dressing
Filet Mignon with Cabernet Demi Glaze
and Chicken Picata
Garlic Whipped Potatoes
Asparagus with Red Pepper
Red or White Wine served during dinner
Individual Molten Chocolate Cake
with Strawberry Sauce

While enjoying dessert, the fun of the competition escalated
over the many unique items we had the opportunity to bid on this year.
