Dear Students and Parents of Junior High Room 112, Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year at The Montessori Academy! We are excited to begin our Junior High year with all of you. Please review the documents below and return all forms to the office no later than Friday, August 14th. The coming academic year promises to be one of exciting challenges and new experiences. Each new academic year of community building and deep learning is an exciting time for all of us! As we gather for classes in the fall, the Junior High program will be well-sized with seventh and eighth level students and a capable team of professionals and specialists. Presenting our young adolescents with a challenging and well-balanced program of study and work is our continued goal. In the same breath, we acknowledge that the students themselves have some ideas about the challenges that await them. They have indicated that they desire to stretch and to embrace their personal responsibilities in a serious manner. The eighth level will be preparing for high school while the new students will be transitioning from the elementary classrooms. In an effort to make the Junior High experience successful and to fully meet the needs of the adolescent, we will begin our year with a student and family conference. Conferences will be scheduled in August. Please look for an email that will allow you to choose the date and time of your conferences. To facilitate our dialogue at this conference, we ask that both parent and student read and fill out the Conference Forms together and bring them with you. We will discuss it at the conference.
